Gah, appealing to this supreme court for anything involving kindness/mercy/non-destructive pragmatism is probably a non-starter.

Probably. The 9th Circuit is right when it says that the decision to end it was cruel and capricious. But given the current makeup of the court, I think it is probably doubtful that they'll uphold that. Still, it gives the DACA people time. And time is a pretty big deal in immigration since there are other forms of relief that depend on how long you've been here.
