Usually the first or second weekend in December

I've never decorated for the holidays. I'm not much of a decorator in general. And I don't have kids, and we don't have anyone over to our house for the holidays.

My parents always decorated the house, and they still do. They usually put stuff up right after Thanksgiving and take it down the first week of January.

Usually early December. I don't get decorating super early. Me and my boss walked past someone's house on the 16th of September on the way home and they had the full setup, tree, lights, everything.

If we're going away for Thanksgiving, then after Thanksgiving. If the Annual Family Hell Trip is in December, then before Thanksgiving since we're losing part of December. And, god damnit, it takes me four-six hours to put up that motherfucking monstrosity of a tree, it's staying up for at least a month.

I'm too poor to decorate my new pad, but my dad always puts his tree up the night of Thanksgiving. Like, we have family over, then when everyone is gone and we're just sitting around, up comes the Christmas tree. (He's been using the same fake tree for like 15 years. It's cute.)

Family tradition is the day after Thanksgiving. Didn't do it last year and won't this year, though. Because cat.

I celebrate Xmas but I don't put up a tree in my apt because it's too little and I usually don't spend Xmas at home anyway.

Now that we finally have a fake tree (yaassss!) I think we'll be putting it up some time during the first week in December. I'm so excited! And I love that we can put it up whenever and not have to worry about it drying out, losing all its needles, and becoming a fire hazard. \o/

Up until last year, my father and I didn't do a tree (too difficult, too expensive). But whenever I'd go to stay with my mother for Christmas they'd usually have put the tree up around the middle of December.
