I *loved* the 90s series at the time, I think because I'm the right sort of age (was a pre-teen when it first aired, loved the idea of being a teen who discovered she had special powers etc) BUT when I see gifs of Salem dear god it was BAD. Even for the 90s imo. They did far too many close ups maybe? And kinda shot themselves in the foot by using a real cat for the distant shots/Salem leaves the room/etc because it made it even more super obvious that the cat who was otherwise welded to an ironing board or whatever wasn't a real cat and only moved like a robot welded to an ironing board would.

I mean, I didn't care when I was a kid but can understand why the cat would put someone off who isn't a 90s pre-teen about to enter a Goth phase.
