Heh;; Well I was hesitant about actually posting that part given I know next to nothing about the show. But from the three or so episodes I actually watched, there was enough drama that I figured I'd post it anyway... (Their focus on the girl who did nothing but whine, while sweeping the contestant who recreated the ROMAN COLOSSEUM(!!) under the rug, while they gushed about a well dressed bird house, and a partially collapsed barn that the contestant admitted himself he botched halfway through, being the reasons)

Maybe because I don't watch american reality competitions aside from Guy's Grocery Games, which basically goes out of its way not to hurt a fly. And otherwise I catch episodes of their Canadian counterparts (Masterchef really) with my mother- I have no expectation for it to play out like that. But a show is a show, reality or not. And the best way to get a rating is for people to talk about it... I don't mean to accuse them of doing anything nefarious, but as a reality show, she either does her make up herself, or they adjust it accordingly.
If she is so talented to have stayed in the competition/made it on the show in the first place, she should be able to blend her makeup accordingly/see it doesn't look good... Otherwise they brought her on, or maintained a certain look for her in order to create some sort of reaction... I'm probably just being an asshole, but yeah...;; I might be too cynical to see it any differently...;;

Tabaqui - not logged in.

I might be too cynical to see it any differently...

I think you might be. I've been sitting here googling for drama or scripted stuff, and the only thing i can find is an incident that happened a few years ago, where poor editing made it seem as if a contestant 'sabotaged' another. But the two people in question have both spoken up and said that no, it didn't actually happen that way.

I think her makeup is...her makeup. Seeing her 'at home' in the little 'get to know them' bits, her makeup was the same, and people can be very resistant to change when it comes to things like that.

Yeah;;
Even the episode I mentioned, I tried to search for similar reactions to mine at the time- (I actually heard about the 'sabotage' incident because of that;;) and found nothing myself...

I keep coming back to the fact I don't even know how she even bakes... I tried looking it up, but I'm both not sure what to search for, and exasperated at what I actually found. (aka gossip mixed with absolutely nothing)
You're right to say people are pretty resistant to change like that- and there's obviously a look that she's going for there. I still have a hard time believing she's oblivious to the fact it just isn't working out for her... but if she thinks it looks good, she thinks she looks good;;
