Not everyone's been following the media around this new show. I've heard of it, just like I remember the 90s show even though I didn't watch it regularly. I didn't realize that the new show wasn't a reboot of the 90s show.

As for the "not like other girls"... yeah, I'm going to go with the previous anon and agree you're reading too much into it. Lots of secrets on FS are made specifically because the OP disagrees with the opinions of other fans. This is one of those secrets. It's super common, and has nothing to do with the OP making themselves out to be special at the expense of other fans.
