I'll be honest in saying I don't understand this way of thinking, mostly because right around the time they start releasing the next generation I've grown a little bored because I have all the things already -- or at least the ones I can get and can't afford a plane ticket and a data plan to wander around Malasia to find a Torkoal. I didn't touch it for a few days and then they were like "hey gen 4 is coming out" and then I was back in.

But everyone has their favorite things, I get that.

Yeah, this is my view.

They release new gens just regularly enough to keep me playing. I have all of Gen One except Mewtwo, all of Gen Two available to me except Lugia and Ho-Oh and the vast majority of Gen Three. I think of those I'm only missing regionals, some legendaries, the unreleased ones, two of the Nincada line and Absol.

If they hadn't released Gen Four I'd probably be much less enthusiastic.
