Johnny Depp went from decent actor to insufferable ham about the turn of the century.

Sort of enabled by professional co-dependency on Burton who became an insufferable director at the turn of the century.

He used to have such a lovely way of speaking and he sounds permanently drugged now :(

Yeah, I often can't believe that I used to really like him as an actor. I remember being a teen and talking with my friends about how hot he was in Sleepy Hollow. And I remember how delightful and excellent he was as Jack Sparrow (in the first Pirates and maybe the second), and how almost everyone loved him for a while there. And now it's just like, "Sad, drunk, high dude who maybe abused Amber Heard and who is deeply obnoxious in every role he's in."
