Mostly shorts, serials (Serialbox), novelettes, and novelas from different sites.

No, I don't have recs for novels because novels are not the form I'm reading these days is the answer to the question.

First: the Chalion books by Lois McMaster Bujold - they're nominally set in the same universe but are all basically stand-alone storylines (with some shared characters) and they're fucking excellent.

Second: what kind of fantasy are you looking for?

Sort of YA fantasy? Uprooted by Naomi Novik (?)

I'll grant it had its flaws, I was just really surprised and pleased by the heroine(s). It's kinda short, I read it intermittently and finished in about 2 days?

nayrt - Serious question... does this book have a solid plot? One of the things I didn't care for about Her Majesty's Dragon is that the dragons were cute and the setting was neat but not a whole lot happened until the last third or so of the novel.
