I feel like a some (but not all) of the ace-advocacy discourse accepts without question stereotypes from mass media about sexuality, kind of like over-estimating violence by the ubiquity of murder in media dramas. Many allo people are not having sex, are not looking for sex, don't structure our lives around sex, don't think about sex all the time, and accept that because that's where our life is right now.

It's the same with most "nonbinary" narratives. A lot of people who identify as nonbinary don't get that actually, most people don't constantly think about their gender and probably don't even actively identify as a "gender" apart from being biologically male or female. Most people just don't think not conforming to an arbitrary set of gender stereotypes makes them something "other" or special.

This is not my experience

Hence "most", not "all".

That's not a satisfactory answer.

Honestly, I was expecting more of a "not all ace people" or "yes all allo people" from the original comment.
