Because Spike isn't "soft" [did we watch the same show: wanting to get into someone's pants is not a get out of jail free card] and even after he gets a soul his attitude is "hey, water under the bridge, so I killed hundreds of people, so what?"

I found B/A boring as hell but it's really not hard to understand why people [unless they want to bonk him] don't warm to Spike.
