IA that ACAB and I say that as someone whose cousin is a cop. They uphold old, even more racist standards of US society. But the Europeans are hardly better.

'The europeans', like your ignorant ass even understands the diversity of people culture and law that represents.

Have fun slinging names and insults instead of trying to prove me wrong.

But you unironically said ACAB so who gives a fuck what you think, you're too ignorant and privileged to say anything worth listening to.

Whatever, you just throw tantrums, refuse to engage, and make no sense. Go, idk, jack off a British cop or something.

(Anonymous) 2018-11-18 03:45 am (UTC)(link)the irony of you getting mad at morieris for talking about a culture they're maybe not familiar with when you're doing the exact same thing...

(Anonymous) 2018-11-18 03:07 am (UTC)(link)It's absolutely true that law enforcement contains a diversity of people culture and law. It's also true that the legal and penal system of America is sufficiently fucked, and entrenched and systemic in its fuckedness, to the point where it is functionally impossible to be a police officer in the United States and not participate in that. No matter how nice you are or what your background is.
Police in the United States systemically mete out violence and unfair treatment to poor people and people of color, across the board. The legal system does not fairly represent those people, across the board. The penal system of the United States imprisons those people at vastly disproportionate rates, in totally inhumane conditions, at a rate that is wildly higher than any other first world country. None of those things go away if you
Now, if you want to be a semantic prick because morieris - who IIRC lives in the United States - was not specifically nice to police in other countries, then fine, be a fuckhead. But in an American context, the fact that law enforcement in the United States is incredibly violent, incredibly racist, and does incredible harm to underprivileged communities outweighs the harm to the feelings of the people who work as police. Police, as a concept, do need to exist. But that doesn't justify what police do in America. Nor does it justify you being a dick.
