You realize that South Park knows what it's doing right?
I stopped watching a long time ago, but still, their shtick has always been making the most out of what's happening at the moment. The show literally survived on making mockery of pop culture, it didn't matter what it was they were making fun of...

Their moto this season is to be canceled. Like they are doing their serious best to make it happen. Hell, only one of the two even voice acted most of this season, and (Clyde in particular) they don't even care if the character sound like they should.
They made a vow to keep creating episodes until they were canceled, and with the money the make from 'Book of Mormon', and the fact their children are getting older- South Park is old news, and they're doing their best to be rid of it.
