littlewings04 asked me if I thought you're someone trying to start another wank about me. It doesn't matter either way. If you ARE for real, you're insane. It's one thing to look at that universe (especially pre-OOTP) and analyse the reasons why this organisation might have existed or to be interested in why intelligent people who are not complete knuckle-dragging morons might have been interested in joining it. But to actually endorse killing large numbers of people? Dude, I fangirl fictional serial killers all the friggin' time but I don't actually think that it is a good idea.

Besides, while I'd actually argue that some people probably are better people than others, I wouldn't argue that this is true based on anything genetic like skin colour or parentage or racial affiliation or lack of a specific ability or even intelligence--I'd argue that it's true to the degree of how much you are willing to use whatever amount of intelligence that you've got. And on that scale, you're clearly nowhere near the top. Fortunately I don't actually believe that dumbasses deserve to die just because they're dumbasses. (Although I find it hard to be sympathetic when they do.)

(If anyone did think this was me stop fapping already. Do you seriously think I would ever write a secret with the words "thank you JKR" in it? Unless it was "thank you JKR for 4 good books, 1 decent one, 2 piles of shit, a whole lot of inspiration and a bunch of great friendships" it's not a "thank you JKR" that could ever have come from me.)

On the off chance that you aren't a troll and you are serious...

If you seriously truly would join an organisation that kills and tortures people for not being what they think they should be, you should not feel good about yourself over that. There's nothing wrong with a good evil overlord fantasy but it should stay there, the minute you think you'd ACTUALLY do something like that you need to examine your motivations.

I used to wear dark mark temp tattoos at cosplays and have a button that said "If Tommy had listened to me, we'd be ruling the world today," but the minute it stops being cosplay fun and you start saying you truly really believe it, YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.

(As for being self-centred--yesterday half the damn comm was blaming me for posting something that someone else I know posted.)

Y'know, just throwing this out there--generally, when people claim that they would actually join any supremacist organization, fictional or not, knowing that torture and murder are on the menu, sane and well-adjusted are not the first adjectives that spring to mind.

What did you expect to happen? People to pat you on the back and tell you that yes, the Death Eaters are charming people and of course you shouldn't feel ashamed for wanting to engage in a campaign of terror and death because you simply believe that some people are better than others?

There's a difference between being interested in that sort of thing and figuring out what the motivations would be for someone to engage in sprees of death and destruction, and wanting to join. Reality check, table one.
