Well, considering you're not an asexual person yourself... you probably will never understand. :/ If something genuinely doesn't interest me, I'm not going to go out of my way to experience something that other people might think is 'beautiful'.
I certainly don't see sex as something 'beautiful' as I don't view it as anything at all really. I don't care about it. I never have and probably never will.
So, perhaps you should keep your worries to yourself because you have absolutely nothing to be worried about. What people say about their own sexuality/sexual attraction - or lack thereof, is none of your business.
Just because someone's preference doesn't conform to society's ideals, doesn't mean that they're 'denying' anything.
And 'don't knock it until you try it' is an absolutely ludicrous thing to say. *_* There are plenty of things that I don't need to experience to know that I won't enjoy it. So what if sex is one of them?

It's just there's such pressure for people to label themselves sexually that I think many people try to stick a name to something that's still changing.
I don't think "don't knock it till you've tried it" is all that silly of a thing to say. But at the same time I don't think someone should go out and do something they don't want to. But, since you're not interested in what the op described it would be impossible for you to try it anyway. Since it requires caring in a way that makes you want to experience it.
You can't try eating your favorite food on the rooftop as the sun rises if you don't have a favorite food. You could still sit on the roof and eat something, but it wouldn't be the same thing.
That and the OP specifically mentioned people who like reading smut but claim to have no actual interest in sex. I've heard a lot of girls (not any guys that I know though I'm sure they exist) I know say things like this when I know for a fact they're lying and are only saying it so that they don't feel guilty about reading porn. Also a lot of people become interested in the emotional aspects of love and lust long before they physically grow into it. Not saying that everyone who likes smut but not sex falls into one of those two groups, but a lot of fangirls certainly do. Also there's a difference between not having any real people around you find sexually attractive and being asexual.
