I'm going to guess there are some Republicans in fandom, though probably not a lot of Trump supporters. But even Democrats and Progressives have been know to have issues with CNN, even with it's liberal slant (I do think it is better at maintaining objectivity than quite a few other outlets). There are a fair few that people that are not big fans of Wolf Blitzer, Lou Dobbs, or a few other past and current contributors. And there was that stupid false story about Scaramucci last year. Plus, they are sort of blamed for the all day news cycle and sensationalizing things that shouldn't be.

yeah, CNN is pretty shitty overall, even though it's orders of magnitude less bad than Fox

As a Democrat, I wish CNN would spend more time on, you know, NEWS. I appreciate the commitment to keeping Trump on notice but if I tune into something called the Cable News Network during primetime, I should be able to get a run-down of what's happening in the world instead of just a panel of talking heads discussing politics for 100% of each of the evening news programs.
