Aren't you the same anon who last time this endless argument came up, was arguing that Fake!Moody was a better teacher because he only abused students JKR doesn't want us to like? And the 'dark arts' were defined as 'whatever JKR says they are, even when we patently see stuff in text that's contradictory, like Harry reflecting on how Malfoy always loved the dark arts; when DH has him throwing out Crucios and getting complimented for his gallantry?

Please stop making this 'JKR didn't present this X way, so it can't be interpreted that way' argument, it's really moronic.

No, that was someone else. Fake!Moody was also a bad teacher. Although comparing Snape to Fake!Moody isn't really an astonishingly great defense of Snape.
