I'm not arguing that intent is what matters, I'm arguing that context is what matters. The intent in Nerds wasn't to portray rape, but what was being portrayed was unambiguously rape because they were having non consensual sex - because of the context of the scene. The Snape scene was not unambiguously sexual assault. It could have been sexual assault, but it also could not have been. And the context, to me, leans towards it not being.

If you want to make analogies, do you think that pantsing someone is sexual assault? That's not a great comparison but it's more relevant than the rape scene in Nerds.

I think if I were to hold someone down against their will and expose their underwear that would be sexual assault. Because Snape was held in place against his will, it wasn’t like he just used his wand to lift up his robe for a second.

What do you think of sharking?

If you think pantsing is sexual assault, I'm not sure what the point of talking to you is.

So the gangs of guys who run up to girls and pull down their pants are cool in your book?

Do you think that people thing that everything that isn't sexual assault is totally fine? Because I'd say that isn't sexual assault but it is assault and not okay, just like what James did to Snape. Assault, yes. Sexual assault, no.

They literally think that if you disagree with them on this, you think that sexual assault is no big deal. It's fucking outrageous.

I mean, do you actually think that's what was going on here? That's absolutely ridiculous.

What makes it different?
