moderating

People who have moderated communities, how did you find a co-mod for a place you created?

I created a subreddit (made a secret about it) and I really have NO idea how to moderate on reddit. Someone messaged me to ask if I needed another mod because he designed the original subreddit that was closed. He also moderates 3 other large subreddits (two around 4000 people, one with 17,000). But Not sure what questions I should ask him.

Tough question. Maybe ask him how he'd handle [insert regularly occurring but tricky issue here]?" I'd also scrutinize his history very thoroughly to see how he responds as a mod in other subreddits.
