Hitchcock was so terrible. What he did to the Birds actress is unconscionable. I have trouble watching his movies. He was such a terrible human being.

I really like most of his movies but I can't watch The Birds but it's for two reasons other than what you referred to.
a) the ending annoys the hell out of me, they should have let him do the original ending.
b) that stupid fucking song the little kids sing during that scene when all the birds are perching and lurking on the jungle gym. I HATE THAT SONG! IT DRIVES ME INSANE!!!
