My DM (he's not running the quest we're currently doing, but it's a side quest and he runs the main quest) messaged me today:
Hey, are you still enjoying d&d with everyone in this group?

Firstly, we've already had a discussion about me being grumpy in D&D because people keep getting sidetracked by talking about minor points of lore or some hi-larious joke they're taking five minutes to tell, and the basic outcome of that conversation was me saying, "Look, I'd just like it if we could get through a short quest in less than six months. Also it would be nice if people didn't drag shit out forever when I say at the start of a session that I've got to leave at 6."
I did not think this was unreasonable.

This last session, our DM for this side quest started with, "Hey, I've got to leave at 4, so let's get this show on the road." At 3:30, I interrupted an in-depth conversation on the composition of tiefling horns (not actually related to gameplay, just... happening) to point out the time and the tight schedule we were under. We managed to finish the fight we were in before the DM had to leave, but only just.

Now this. Perhaps I am unreasonably paranoid, but I feel like me playing Lawful Killjoy IRL and this Deep Concern^TM about how much I'm enjoying the game might be related, and it's sort of giving me the shits. Fucksakes, mate, I just want to play the game, not sit staring into the distance while the Chaotic Dipshit tiefling tries to convince the DM he should be able to enslave this random woman we just met.
I'm enjoying the game! When we're actually playing it!

Dang, sounds like you need to find a new group when this quest finishes up. Surely, they are some with people that want to play the game more and fuck around less.
