I think I remember this scene? It was a pretty early episode, so part of the awkwardness might have been because the characters themselves hadn't quite meshed as a whole yet? Aside from Morgan, Garcia, Reid, and JJ, (from what I can remember) I thought it took a few seasons overall for the entire team to become comfortable with each other. While I doubt it was intentional, I always considered this scene to be more of an attempt from the characters to unite better as a team? (but then again, I might completely misremembering the entire thing;;)

But I gotta say, if you're basing the acting by Mandy's standards- ugh, that is a low as fuck bar to set...
