You know, I got over my hate boner for Mary Sue OCs a long time ago. I don't want to read them, but lots of people do. I don't think it is evil or horrible to create one. Some people just like that kind of thing. There is an audience.

I always think Mary Sues are dreary to read, but they must be fun to write.

I think of it as just written down what a lot of people already fantasize about. I have basically mary sues in my head that I pretend to be when I'm daydreaming. I just don't write it down. And I'm not interested in reading other people's fantasies personally. But lots of people do like them.
