One of my first encounters with fanfiction was a whole geocites type page dedicated solely to a LOTR Mary Sue fic (2004ish). I didn’t read all of it, but the end game was Legolas (the subject) and the Mary Sue having twins, cause twins are the sign that not only are you super happy but also having lots of the sex cause that’s how fertility works, and the couple living next door to Gimli in the Shire or some shit.
