Re: Annoying fandom thing

LMAO, why are all the replies to this so Tumblr?

I'm bi too and you're absolutely right. It happens in every fandom and it's obnoxious as fuck. Fandom isn't supposed to be about making fun of everyone who's different or has a different headcanon from you.

fuck are you talking about?

there's nothing wrong with OP disliking stuff. different people like different parts of fandom. simple.

Yeah, I am pretty tired of Tumblr gay culture in general. I know a lot of them are young, but I get tired of the dumb "straight people" jokes. Especially the "straight girls are dumb and always date boys who don't treat them well" (victim blaming crap) and the "straight girls should date butch lesbians instead" (are they implying that people should change their orientation, or that butch lesbians are men? It's offensive either way).

And THEN the one that was all "why are so many straight 40 year old moms attracted to [actor in his late 40s]??" With the implication that said "40 year old moms" are gross and kind of naive to like someone who presumably wouldn't be interested in them. I mean, does anyone fangirling/fanboying over a celebrity really expect the celebrity to be into them? It's just a fantasy.

But it's also annoying because the creators, actors, etc. are for the most part straight white men, mostly over 30, and some have children. But shitting all over straight women, "40 year old moms," and so on is fine.
