When I first heard "they're making a movie with gay cowboys," I'd hoped it would be a historical piece set in the Old West with a romance between the two male leads. Maybe kind of like a really slashy Western, only the subtext doesn't stay sub, it gets officially acknowledged and acted on - so now what do the guys do? I'm rather interested in pre-20th century GLBT history, so I thought it would be fun to have a relatively mainstream movie acknowledging that there were gay people in the 1800s who weren't Oscar Wilde.

Yeah, that would have been cool. I wish someone would make that movie; I'd totally watch it. I don't think Brokeback was anything spectacular...I mean I liked it and everything, but it was just...it didn't live up to the hype for me. Meh.
