I'm not sure whether to be amused or exasperated that someone thinks that fans are going to limit their comparisons to one isolated incident and not engage in a whole bunch of romanticizing, woobifying comparisons in addition to that. I'm not even in Star Wars fandom and I know this happens.

OP of the sentiment if not the secret here and believe me I know there’s mass-woobification going on. I’ve been guilty of it myself in other fandoms. I just follow a bunch of blogs that post about stuff I like in addition to Reylo, and sunce I don’t have a tumblr, I just scroll past Reylo stuff really quickly. I don’t send Reylo fans hate or anything. And maybe it’s just the specific fans I follow, but a good 30-40% of the fic and art I glimpse while scrolling frantically past is Regency/P&P stuff. I’m not even a big Austen fan, but Star Wars is not a comedy of manners or anything close.

And what's wrong with that?
