Hey, all, I'm compiling a list of accounts that were affected by the recent Tumblr purges, which you can see here. I would really appreciate if you could check that list over, see if it needs any corrections. Thank you!

It's a long, unpleasant story, and it begins with Tumblr getting pulled from the Apple store sometime on Friday, November 16th. Soon after that, there were reports of a whole lot of NSFW (and some SFW) blogs getting terminated. It wasn't until Monday, November 19th that Tumblr confirmed that the Apple store problem was with real-life child porn that hadn't been taken off the site yet. The theory was, a glitch in the algorithm Tumblr used to take out the pornbots and child porn accidentally took out a bunch of legit blogs with them.

Even so, a number of legitimate accounts still haven't been restored, including feminist blogger Pervocracy and popular fancomic creator Moringmark. What's worse, there are reports of people who emailed staff to get their blogs back, only for staff to respond that the termination of their blogs was final; most of the blogs terminated in this way were posting aged-up porn of underage characters, but there was a guy who got purged for, I shit you not, posting tentacle porn, under the grounds that it counted as bestiality. My own theory is that staff banned anyone who had reports (above a given number) on their file, and let God sort it out afterward.

From what I've seen, there are some people who don't care to get their Tumblr blogs reinstated too. Finally, they're free of the blue hellsite.
