I have been told I am a pervert for shipping Futaba with Joker because apparently she's a ~child~

OP

And yet somehow Ann/Kamoshida is a valid ship in this fandom.

Seriously, I don’t care. Joker/Sae, Joker/Kawakami, hell, ship Joker/ Yoshida if you want to.

Ehh, I don't like shipping Fuutaba with Joker because she's so dependent on him.
Even without the father/son relationship you get with 'Boss', Joker takes her in, and has to 'school' her along with the rest of the crew for quite a while, before she's even considered 'fit' for social interaction... That kind of authority, the fact Joker's seen as a 'son' by her father, and the overall way she treats you, as an older brother- it shouldn't be romantic in my opinion.
Personality wise, I would romance her myself, given the options- but given all the context, I just hate to see her shipped with him...;;
(sorry I meant to add more to this, but couldn't find the words to;;)

Yeah, I can’t lie, that would annoy the absolute SHIT out of me. Makoto is NOT Miranda, please stop having her act like her! I love Miranda, but she would manipulate RINGS around Queen. Honestly, I kinda feel like if we’re gonna compare P5 characters to ME characters, Makoto’s Ashley. Intelligent, intensely loyal,, but willing to beat your face in if required.

Eh, I can't do Futaba and Joker given they're set up so hard as siblings. Too incest-y for me.

Same. Plus there's the fact that she's still very emotionally immature due to her prolonged isolation from the outside world, so Joker dating her is super squicky to me because it feels like he's taking advantage of that.

+1 (x1000);;

The relationship between Futaba/Joker is so sibling-esque that it creeps me out tbh.

I don't know who that other character is, but I like... ship the entire main cast any which way (besides the cat). I can find valid reasons for any of the ships to work, even if yeah, you CAN read some of it as sibling-like, but there are other interpretations too. I never realized so many people were squicked by Akira/Futaba. She clearly had a crush on him, in my opinion, and he was respectful of her feelings in a patient sort of way. If you play her path then it's a lot more obvious. And I think that he's kind and understanding enough not to rush something like that, just stick around and be supportive/like family to her and Sojiro, and that things would just eventually progress. Not every ship has to be like - mad crazy for you sex/lust driven passion that could be horrifying if cast OOCly onto characters that wouldn't act that way. Futaba and Akira are teens. And let me tell you, as a 13 year old I had a crush on both 10 year olds and people far older than me. Teens just have emotions, and writing stories about that tastefully is not wrong.

I assume you mean Miranda... She's from Mass Effect 2, basically, she's bio-engineered to be 'perfect'...

And while I see what you mean that every character has a fair chance with Joker, obviously the LI wouldn't exist otherwise- it's just that months go by as the characters try and adapt Futaba to a normal social structure after her heart is taken... Be it she has a crush on him or not, to take that motivation and move it into a more intimate means- it's just too much, too soon. You don't get to play out those months getting to know her, and most of their interactions thereafter are with Joker, her and her father...
It's less on Futaba's apparent teenage crush on him, and more on Joker's ability to know what she needs, rather than what she might want.

THIS. She's in no way ready for any sort of romantic relationship when she can still barely handle basic social interactions. She needs to reintegrate into the world first before she can even start thinking about that sort of thing. Having Joker date her just feels really selfish to me because it's him putting his own wants over what she actually needs.

Heh, Makoto is not Miranda, probably only because Makoto acts more like a 'perfect' robot... despite Miranda's obvious enhancements...
I don't read anything with this paring at all, but I know of her waifu status, and how popular she is with Joker- I played the game though... and while I would go into the faults of the actual gameplay/characters, I'll keep it to myself... Because I can see how they might relate to each other by trying to be Ms. Perfect- Miranda trying to impress T.I.M. and Makoto to her sister/(?)...
But where Miranda has some depth, (when it comes to her sister/not being a complete racist all the time), Makoto was given her persona, and it was left at that, she went right back to her Ms. Perfect standards.
I don't know how people write them, so I can't comment on that- but I see how they (might) be viewed on the same line at any rate...
