Not ayrt, but the thing with Blackwall is that the mid-game reveal means he was always destined to be a pretty niche character. People who would've liked the character he's presented as for the first 30 hours of the game aren't necessarily going to keep liking him after the reveal, and people who would've liked the sort of character he actually is aren't necessarily going to be interested enough in the initial presentation to care by the time the reveal rolls around. Even if the more popular LIs were removed, he wouldn't gain much of a following because the way his story plays out makes him a weird mix of controversial and inoffensive that isn't going to hook people who go for either end of the spectrum. And the controversy has nothing to do with mages or elves, so he won't hook the stans either.
