130. Agreed--even though I wasn't completely disillusioned with the princess archetype before Nia, she reminded me why I love it. I know there are some gender issues with the whole fantasy-princess concept, but when it's done well (i.e., she doesn't sit around waiting to be rescued the whole time, and she actually gives people reason to love and praise her so much), I love it anyway. It's like...they have the feminine equivalent of gar. And it makes me irrationally happy.

132. Rukia was my favorite thing about Bleach in the beginning. She was such a refreshing character, and yes, part of that was that she was a female character taking on what would normally be male roles--mentoring and challenging the protagonist.

But while I know she's done some kickass stuff in the Hueco Mundo arc, I can't help but feel that KT never again quite let her reach the levels of engaging, active awesome that she did in the early series...even without her powers. I don't know.

150. Also agreeeeed although since I'm not a straight girl I guess it's kind of obvious in my case.

You nailed my feelings. For me Nia is a girl so feminine and cute and charming it turns females GAY for her. <3
