156 - I used to be a fan of hers, but recently since I've gotten more into art and illustration myself, I've realized that she's not really anything special =/. Or at least not as much as people make her out to be. She's a great character artist, don't get me wrong, but I really don't think she's very creative. I think people seem to flock to her because she doesn't draw your typical anime crap with kawaii little jokes. And I think she's getting lazier and lazier, but doesn't do anything about it because people still kiss her ass and favorite the hell out of everything she submits to devArt. If you look at her earlier stuff, it's a lot neater, better colored, etc. I'm kind of glad she wasn't accepted at Disney, maybe she'll start working to her full potential.

Ahaha this is trufax, and I guess you're not on my flist because this is a lot like what I wrote in some flocked stuff the other day. Cept you're wrong about the part about me being lazy because people will fave anything of mine @ Devart. My laziness has nothing to do with the internet (well, minus me playing games on it all the time) and would not wane even if I left the internet completely. And at this point, I just like to geek out w/ people in the comments, and go "LOL DA, OH U" at the number of faves.

And mannn I WISH I had had the "Omg I'm popular on the internet" overconfidence going before I applied to Disney, and that I had this desire to "work to my full potential". If it had any effect on me at all, it was the opposite :/.

(You probably won't even read this, since this is a couple-days-old fandomsecrets etc etc, but whatever, I figured since you're bothered enough to reply then blog about it then you might come back. And not on your journal because...obviously people would start wank etc in reply =/.)

...thank you so much for taking it as advice more than making fun of my comment. I believe what you said about the DevArt thing; obviously I don't know you personally and that's just how it looked to me. And yeah...I am actually on your flist...anonymous because I don't want to start a huge wank, it's not like I go around every day complaining about you or something (as I said, I actually really like your art, waaaaaayy back in the day TLK.org fan even). But yeah, I'm happy to actually get to you, I guess? And I guess I'm the kind of person who would critique someone more of in order for them to try better than because I'm jealous or something. Because honestly, besides the fact that I'm an artist myself and am usually happy with my style/etc, if I was as popular as you, I don't think I could handle critique like this =/. And it's good, I think, for someone to get the negative sometimes...we all know what happens to people who only get streams of praise, especially with something involving talent like this.

By uncreative I guess I meant more of...I've seen other artists that are as good as you or worse, but have these rich ideas, and that's what makes the drawing, but they aren't as popular as you. And it's not that I don't like humor, I do, but I know you can also come up with great original characters, instances, etc, and of course have the ability to put it into picture. That sounds kind of bitchy...I'm sorry, I guess I just mean that to me it's a little disappointing to always see the same characters always come from such a great artist. But if that's what makes you happy the most, then seriously, go on. I'll shut up, because this is kind of demanding of me, for realz. I guess the uncreative thing was kind of dumb to say :/.

abahah jk jk x). Yeah like, I pretty much 100% agree with you, and I can tell nothing was said out of just outright resentment or anyting lol. I've always been envious of people who have all these crazy ideas and great original characters and hordes of talent, like

binsybaby for instance, and I do feel kind of indignant that they're not getting as much attention as anime artists, fanartists, and sparkly wolf artists lolol. But then again I only feel kind of indignant because I also expect it.. I mean it's DevianTart, land of predictable 15 year olds. I'm just happy those actual creative original artists are more concerned with art than with meaningless internet celebrity. And just.. in my defense, all bigheadedness due to lots of praise with no critique was halted around my senior year of high school when I started looking at art from like, eatpoo.com and conceptart.org stuff. And let me tell you, if fandom artists were really any good, they wouldn't be fandom artists lol lol. OR they'd be like professional fandom artists like

rufftoon did.

But no! Don't apologize for saying I'm uncreative because I am! Coming up with original characters and creations is something very difficult for me and something I have to force myself to do. And even once I do, I feel nothing for them and I'm like, embarrassed that they even exist. I turned down an invitation to Girl-A-Matic once because I was like "dudes, I don't have any stories to tell" xD. Interpreting other people's stories and characters has always been infinitely more fun than creating my own, so I just end up drawing fanart of things I fall in to, and fanart happends to be what gets easy attention. But yeah, believe me, I don't consider being called uncreative in this context an insult at all, it's merely a state of being at this point x)). I think a lot of people equate "creativity" with any ability to do anything remotely artistic, so I've been looking at the defensive comments in my journal and being like "but.. wait.. you don't get it xD".
