(Anonymous) 2018-11-30 10:09 am (UTC)(link)You can buck off a horse thief in RDR 1 all the same. (a mission actually has the option to give someone your horse, which you can then just call it back because your horse likes you better) The difference is that you play Marston's life after Dutchy, he settles down, has a family. It's him trying to make amends for his past deeds, both for himself, and because he's being blackmailed to.
If you liked befriending horses and don't like being mean, play the first game.
RDR 2 is essentially a prequel the RDR, but by all means playing the first game is kinda necessary to understand where Marston is coming from.
Rockstar is probably the only brand left that you can count on to make quality games. But the same way you can't read the third installment of a book series and be angry that you don't know what's going on- you can't play the second (though I'll keep from getting into Red Dead Revolver, the first actual game when you play as Marston's son, Jack.) installment of a game and blame it for what the previous games already gave you the information on for what to expect...
I don't fault you for disliking it- obviously it's not for you, but I just have such a hard time sympathizing when you didn't even bother trying the first game;;...
(the save feature i don't have a problem with, because I've been playing a lot of games with similar/worse saving lately, so it doesn't bother me)
(well looks like I'm passionate about this, huh;;)
