I agree. But this is also one of the frustrating things about the writing for the SW franchise. She's a very... basic villain in this scenario. They didn't bother writing someone more complex, where you could see their side of the argument better even if you didn't agree completely. They just needed someone to be on the opposite side that Poe was on.

I understand there's no time for character development in these movies, especially for minor characters. I just think it's a shame and it's frustrating when people say, "But ALL the characters are under-developed!" because... right? That's the problem, not the excuse?

I wouldn't say that she's a villain, any more than Poe is. It's actually quite easy to see her side of the argument. Probably 70% of this thread is going to be people arguing that she was objectively right and Poe was objectively wrong, in fact.

I did say "in this scenario" because the script clearly means her to be the Bad Guy. Not in a Darth Vader sense, just the opposition to Poe, who we're supposed to think is right.
