I wouldn't say she's 'irredeemable' (and this coming from one of the people who hates Willow the most). But she deliberately, selfishly, erased memories and altered the mind of her girlfriend so that she could win fights and not have to 'deal' with Tara's criticism. And this after Tara had had her mind fucked over by Glory.

From season one on, Willow bitches about people 'not trusting' her to do magic, and then continuously does magic for selfish reasons, or without thinking, thus causing more issues (see - the whole reason that Buffy had 'i was in heaven' trauma and the whole reason The First Evil could come to Sunnydale).

And mostly she never apologized or seemed to learn from her mistakes, and mostly she just continued to do fucked up, selfish, dangerous stuff (like going to Rack and almost getting Dawn killed), despite people who knew more about magic telling her she needed to be careful, study more, and stop being so reckless.

So - not irredeemable, but one of the worst characters on the show for being a jackass.

And yeah - Tara deserved much, much, much better.

This! My issues with Willow stem all the way back from Season 1 with her and Season 6 honestly just felt like a natural build up of all her issues all the way from back then.

It's not that she's irredeemable. She's just a terrible person who keeps making terrible choices and who absolutely, positively should not be trusted with any form of power.
