My problem with Temperance was that she didn't change.

She did, though. She became a stereotypical emotional, maternal, feminine character because the show wanted us to believe that there was something wrong with who she was, that Booth was always right, and that emotional is inherently better than rational.

I missed the later seasons where she apparently did a complete about face and became all maternal, but... even so, I don't agree. Her character was inconsistently written from the early seasons. In one episode, she'd go from being so socially clueless that she can't even refrain from calling a victim "the remains" even when she's talking to their loved ones. Yet in another episode she's somehow carrying on healthy FWB relationships with hot dudes in her spare time. FWB relationships are tricky - how did she manage to meet these guys and navigate them without it getting weird or unpleasant when most of the time she's portrayed like a robot with no feelings and capability to grasp human emotions and motivations?
