I'm easily intimidated in general and a big, fast-paced RP filled with fandom!people I recognized/respected was enough to scare me off, I guess.
That is understandable, don't worry. If it makes you feel a little bit better ( in knowing you're not the only one even though it is just the internet ), the last comm I joined I had an anxiety attack over. I didn't know any of the people there and before, ever community or RP I joined I knew at least one person. I kept freaking out because I didn't know any of them and I was worried what they all might be like and of course, whether or not my personality would fit in with the lot. It wasn't easy.
If the people at your community wasn't treating you badly or anything and you are just intimidated by them and who they are. . .you might not have to leave. If you don't have one person there that you feel a little close to or comfortable with, try talking to one of the mods about this. Not that I have been in tons of comms or anything, but it is my experience that the mods are usually helpful and a bit understanding.
I mean, it isn't apathy that is holding you back. You are trying and that does say a lot. Being a newer RPer, I think most people are understanding of that too. I think the thing is, just keep trying. If you need to, maybe find a smaller community to join to get use to RPing and being in that setting.
And don't worry about the tl;dr thing. :3 Yeah, I don't think you are the person I was first thinking of. Which is fine. If you were, I was just going to smack them over IM and say "You made a F!S about this instead of just talking to one of us!?" Out of love of course! :D
