There's an easy trick to finding what you want. It's called reading real summaries and reviews instead of rants by people who never watched anything since their high school anime club.

I try that but it turns out that a lot of anime fans have learned to just ignore panty shots and high school dating plot lines or fetishism. Or actually just like them.

just go to manga updates and check the tags

90% of anime is an adaptation and almost always a close one at that. wikipedia has episode summaries. it's pretty easy to know what you're getting into.
