You are by far not the first to dislike Mon-El intensely, OP. :\

And what makes it worse is Chyler recently revealed that they cut Sanvers scenes in favor of Karamel scenes or other such.

Whaaaaa? They cut scenes with two supporting characters in favor of those from a relationship containing the lead, eponymous character?!

Look, hate Mon-El or don't, I've never understood the criticism that directly compares these two relationships. Sanvers was NEVER going to be as big or important of a focus to the show.

I think that Chyler just mentioned that 75% of Sanvers scenes were cut overall, and Sanvers shippers complaints were just about them being so sidelined

But seriously take the Valentines Day episode, for example. Alex had three separate 30 second moments with Maggie. The rest of it was this bloated Mon-el plot where he was trying to be macho and "protect" Kara and had to learn it wasn't okay to act like that.

Of course Mon-el would forget what Kara taught him so it was like that all season. It was so dumb and I was someone who started out shipping them in the beginning. Come to think of it, Mon-el was like Scrappy Doo taking over a show lol

My point, since it seems to have been missed: it makes no sense to compare the two relationships in terms of screentime and development or complain that one suffers *because* of the other one.

Karamel includes Kara, AKA Supergirl, the lead character on the show Supergirl.

Sanvers shippers can be upset about lack of screentime or development, but they're delusional if they really think "If it wasn't for that Mon-El, they'd have had more focus."
