what did the storyboard artist do?

why is it such a big deal?

(Anonymous) 2018-12-07 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
DA

Same. I've heard *zip* and I would definitely have heard something about this with the way the Tumblr purity brigade loves jumping up on its holier-than-thou pedestal at the slightest provocation.

The issue was basically a matter of "storyboarder being a part of the Tumblr purity brigade" so it's no wonder the purity brigade didn't complain about it. "One of us! One of us!" and all.

I'm not in either of the She-Ra or Voltron fandoms, so this is all second hand info.

Basically, one of the She-Ra team liked some tweets of an anti bashing the team behind Voltron. The tweets in question were something along the line of She-Ra was going to be better because the staff was actually going to give them proper representation unlike the "awful" Voltron staff.

I thought someone related to She-Ra got in a fight on Twitter with Rebecca Sugar or something.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Noelle Stevenson, the director of She-ra, said something along the lines of how it was unfortunate that Steven of Steven Universe was only in the show because executives wanted a male lead. Which was never the case, Steven was there since its inception.

Well, that makes me lose respect for her. Not for what she said, but the fact that she clearly pulled it out of her ass because it just takes a second to Google and find out the real reason Rebecca Sugar created Steven is because she wanted to make a show about her relationship with her brother who's the model for Steven right down to his name.

I can't find any sources to confirm this happened.

Hahaha this made me watch she ra

Wait, is this "she liked a tweet" drama? Which is even pettier than "she posted a tweet" drama?

Don't get me wrong, either can be unprofessional but blowing up a person's job over "like" clicks is unwarranted.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 09:54 am (UTC)(link)
Some of the tweets she liked were "jokes" about hurting/killing VLD staff.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
It was a few storyboarders, and some of their liked tweets included people "joking" about physically harming or killing the VLD staff, particularly director Lauren Montgomery, who for some funny reason always gets more hate and violent threats than her co-director Joaquim Dos Santos. It's not a good look for the people behind another female-run show that's supposed to be about being inclusive and empowering girls.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Even shittier was that she did all of this after Joaquim Dos Santos had gifted her a personalized drawing for her Lance shrine.

I know nothing about this drama, but that’s a sick picture of She-Ra.

I’m talking anti “jokes” about violence a lot more seriously after the needle cookies incident.

I'd heard she was fired, or at least that she's not on the team for season two. When the tweets were going down I believe her job on season one had already wrapped up and was over. People need to learn to make separate non-connected accounts to keep their personal lives entirely separate from their fandom lives if they're going to work in the public view. Dos Santos from Voltron got himself in hot water for liking tweets after season seven of his show dropped as well. Companies need to start laying down rules about what's acceptable on public media and what's not for people working with them since now everyone has access to posting their thoughts the minute it comes up without PR to look it over.
