i've seen literally no posts on tumblr about that? most are (rightfully) blaming yahoo/verizon.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen people say it on Twitter

(Anonymous) 2018-12-09 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
I saw a couple blaming aces/aros.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-09 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Now *that's'* shitty.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)

Came here to say this.

Actually blame should partly be on Apple since they were the ones that pulled Tumblr's app off their store that started this whole NSFW purge.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
According to Vox, the NSFW purge had been planned for months before Apple forced it: https://www.vox.com/the-goods/2018/12/4/18126112/tumblr-porn-ban-verizon-ad-goals-sex-work-fandom

As much as I hate Apple, they did the right thing. Tumblr's failure to cracking down on rampant child pornography gave them no choice.

I've been on tumblr for years and never came across that.

The only problem that affects everyone were porn bots who kept following and leaving spam messages on popular posts. Thousands of porn bots and the staff never did shit about it.

I've had enough with people trying to make it seem like tumblr banning all NSFW is a some noble cause because it gets rid of CP when the truth is the staff is too fucking lazy to deal with the actual problems so they have some shitty algorithm flagging everything for them.

I've never run across the Furby enthusiasts that were in the Vox article, but I'm sure they exist.

For a while, I was involved in a group that reported CP accounts and warned CSA survivors. Tumblr was extremely slow to review the reports and often nothing would happen. I had to step away because it was so frustrating and draining.

I don't support the NSFW ban. All I said was that I understood Apple's response to Tumblr's shitty moderation.

I did see someone on Tumblr blaming the klancers...
