The thing I find stunning about all this is that there was actual legit child porn and child porn rings on Tumblr all this time. Blows my mind that while antis were wasting their time screeching about how Sheith, Pharmercy, and other fictional ships involving two adults that have a large age gap is "LITERALLY SUPPORTING GROOMING/PEDOPHILIA!!", there was actually shit hurting real children going on behind the scenes. Horrific.

The sad thing is that people were reporting the actual child porn and avalanches of porn bots all along, and tumblr did bupkis about any of it until they got hit in the wallet.

That's just flat out negligent, abbhorent behaviour on Tumblr's part. Even fucking 4chan is swift in deleting CP when you report it, to think these fuckers sat back and did nothing. Forget trashing tumblr because "muh liberal SJW snowflake echochamber", the site should receive flak for enabling a haven for fucking pedophiles.

AYRT—I think tumblr did ban some of the reported stuff, but never managed to actually stop the porn bots, and as someone who has no problem with (appropriately tagged) nsfw stuff that’s not actual child porn jfc, I’m still angry that they deployed what seems like an untrained algorithm to ban everything vaguely white-people skin colored or circular and rely on people contesting that say, pics of dunes aren’t nude bodies to train the algorithm —and the contested flagged posts are being screened by the same algorithm over again instead of fucking hiring some more human eyeballs to go “yeah this needs adult content filters,” “oops those are googly eyes,” or “hello FBI we seem to have a pedophile hive, here’s the account details, come nuke it please.”

And since people aren’t always being notified when their posts are flagged for shit like “a porn bot commented somewhere in the reblog chain,” a lot of people may have their blogs go poof on 12/17. I don’t even have a tumblr and I’m pissed they’re handling this so poorly.

My partner had Sims2 Alien pics flagged as porn. Fully clothed cartoon aliens with mint-green skin. (Not that being fully clothed matters that much, Sims2 skins are Barbie dolls where the area is concerned.
