Sort of the opposite of #7: Who is fandom thirsty for or obsessed with that's totally deserving?

Please don't just name names, tell us why it's justified!

Rumpelstiltskin from Once Upon a Time. Glittering lizard-man in leather pants or sharp, well-dressed soft man. Something for everyone!

AYRT—Which episode? because there’s an extremely prolific fandom that kicked into high gear after s.1 ep.12 that is full to overflowing with (het, sorry if that’s not your thing) smut.

ayrt

lol of course I am !!

The episode, i can't quite recall, but he was getting rude with the woman with short hair. Was he? I just remeber him telling her that she had a choice to make, or something to that effect and she was on the fence about accepting his offer. I wish I could remember it exactly, but I can't!

Well, super short hair sounds like Mary Margaret, and by the time she’s dealing (heh) directly with him (as Mary Margaret), it’s kind of late in the season. If you ever get around to watching more episodes, mention on FS when you get to season 1 episode 12, Skin Deep, and I’ll bury you in recs and links.

Same anon—or if you’re super impatient, you could just watch episode 8, Desperate Souls, followed by Skin Deep, but I think season 1 of OUAT is worth watching all the way through, in order, at least once.

All of them/none of them, attractiveness is subjective, yawn.

Re: Sort of the opposite of #7: Who is fandom thirsty for or obsessed with that's totally deserving?

(Anonymous) 2018-12-10 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Its subjective in theory but it's not really that subjective in practice. The range of who fandom is attracted to, and people more generally, is not really that broad. 'unconventionally attractive' is usually still very close to conventionally attractive.

Anyway regardless, I think OP was just looking for the ones that you agree with personally.

If this thread bores you, starting your own far more fascinating thread is a good alternative to telling everyone that you aren't being entertained enough.

Steve Rogers, imo. The actor is attractive and the character has everything fandom loves. It certainly helps that Chris Evans is fantastic on twitter.

Yeah, I'm not even in the MCU fandom (or the comics fandom), but it's damn hard not to love Steve, IMO. He's gorgeous, and he manages to be a genuinely good and heroic person, without feeling bland, preachy, or moralizing.

Out of all my fandoms I can only think of Sherlock and Joan from Elementary. Sharp-dressed, intelligent, and kickass.

Honestly, I feel like I understand fandom's thirst the majority of the time, even when I don't share in it.

Leonard Snart (The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow)

(Anonymous) 2018-12-11 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
he's pretty
and he's a master thief
and he deliberately poses himself for maximum effect
and he's sarcastic
and he gets a lot of good one-liners
and he's got a sad backstory
and he's both a bad guy and a good guy (anti-hero doesn't quite capture it)
and he gets emotional
and he has a cool gun
and he died heroically (killing him off pissed me off, but given the 'verse it's pretty easy to bring him back however you want in fic and they've done it in 'verse a few different ways)
and his actor, Wentworth Miller, is a lovely person, inside and out
