I'm a fan but am actually using Avengers Endgame as an excuse to get out because I'm interested in how the first 10 years ends (despite being it feels like the only MCU fan on the planet who didn't think Infinity War was the ultimate high point of the franchise) but I just can't be bothered to keep up with it all anymore after this.

You aren't alone.

I was not impressed with Infinity War myself. My reaction to the movie was: 'This, this is what you did. Seriously?' It was better than Age of Ultron, but that's not saying much. But I think I'm definitely in the minority when I say I liked Captain America: Civil War better (I didn't think it was great, but I didn't think it was bad, either). Of course, I'm a more casual fan than some, having only watched about half of the MCU movies heretofore.

The question is, since Captain Marvel comes out before and presumably the plot and/or Captain Marvel plays some part in Endgame, are you going to watch that? I'm on the fence myself.

In Avengers terms I can't believe how hard people are on the first one now because of IW. Yes the wisecracks are tiring but I've genuinely never had so much fun at a cinema screening. IW was unrelenting misery. At least the first Avengers felt like an event experience everyone could enjoy (plus there was the disbelief they actually pulled it off, IW felt same old same old to me.)

I think I'll go see Captain Marvel seeing as she's going to be important and that way I complete phase 3 before I close the book on this part of my fandom life.

I'm kind of feeling the same, although we'll see. They're going towards more space & magic stuff, it seems, and I'm not into that at all. I like the "earth-based" stories and characters more.

Nope! I hated Infinity War. I think the high point was probably CA:TWS. I've loved a few movies, liked most of them (I even liked Civil War overall), but I hated Infinity War. I'm hoping part 2 can redeem it, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high.
