gonna guess that it's because every time some celebrity is dragged in a secret or the comments for any reason, someone has to come in and helpfully add that they're a bad person because of X. it borders on concern-trolling when it comes off like we didn't know that he's an abuser here let me help by adding this damning little detail that will...what? make us hate him more?

even if you're sincere in imparting that knowledge, anon, people are allowed to dislike him for non-abuse reasons and also at the same time get annoyed that you felt the need to add another log to the fire.

ntayrt - but... so we should never mention an abusive person's history of abuse because people might have other reasons for disliking them?

That was my take on it, too. It feels like an attempt to seize attention by acting as though the reason why someone dislikes [celebrity] is because of their problematic past - not because that's the reason cited, but because it's your reason for disliking [celebrity].
