That's not really accurate for Voltron fandom though. Lance is the self-insert, the one who gets the most traits projected onto him that he doesn't actually have in canon.

Which is funny considering he at least isn't as much of a boring blank slate as Keith. I don't know what it is about Lance that draws in such frothing projection and insane devotion and I don't think I ever will.
