Just because something is called a joke doesn't make it funny and doesn't make it okay. I personally don't think that if you make a racist/homophobic/sexist comment, you can be called out on it, even if you claim it was a joke.

I can't believe people are still using the tired old "comedians are exempt from basic decency" defense in this day and age. If a comedian is so shitty at their job they can't come up with any good jokes unless they're being offensive, then they don't deserve any paying gigs.
