I don't mind personal questions, especially since it's a personal thing I said. I had the feeling long before I became a mother, but there's definitely an attitude of "A mother will sacrifice anything for her child," and that did make it worse. I remember feeling utterly destroyed when I couldn't breastfeed. Granted it wasn't a question of putting my wants first as I did want to do it, but I felt like I was letting my son down for the rest of his life and finally people started getting (justifiably) frustrated with me for not getting over it.

That is such a kind and thoughtful thing to say. I didn't realize anyone remembered me that well. Thank you so much.
