Agreed with silverr. I know it can be really daunting to think that there isn't a ready made audience out there for your work. On the other hand, what are you really risking by getting your fic out there?

I've written some INCREDIBLY niche things, and I've never had a story not get at least one kudo. It's the internet. Whatever you're into, you're never the only one.

Definitely! I post stuff all the time that I think has no audience and occasionally I'll get a comment from someone who is just so happy about my fic and I am so happy about their comment and the world is great ;-)

And if you're writing about middle aged men from daytime TV getting it on then look me up cus you've already got one fan lol.

What they said - post! You never know. And check to see if your fandom is on Yuletied - you could offer a fic there and totally make someone's day (or week or month or year.....)

Ah, thank you for being so encouraging, you guys! Just now today I posted a very niche thing and I joined a comm that's geared towards those rarer fandoms and I'm nervous but excited.
