I think you may be overestimating how much of the market knows or cares about twitter drama

Not many people are on Twitter, but the ones in Twitter are the most influential. And smartest, and have the best taste, and are the sexiest.

Maybe I am. I don't think that it's always an influential place for readers, but here's the big problem - it definitely is a popular and significant forum for people in the publishing business. Agents, publishers, editors... I can almost guarantee you there isn't a single significant American publisher who doesn't know about this.

cynically, I think if her books sell, someone will still publish her. capitalism is a hell of a drug,

will she take a hit as consequence? probably. like, her odds of getting a hugo are definitely down. but I think she'll still have readers, and ultimately that will be more important.
