Teenagers? Huh. I always thought they were in their 20s, and Adora was hot. Adult wlw me misses hot "adult" Adora.

I certainly can't buy them as teens! As a kid I must have assumed they were young adults. I don't think I gave it much thought then, but I don't recall having any illusions that this is what teenagers looked like, even though this was back when teens looked really grown up to me (but didn't look like that!) He-Man is certainly old enough to have a adult man's voice.

Agreed. I even watched an episode a year ago for nostalgia. The voice for Adora creeped me out because she sounded so old to me, compared to younger early 20's looking Adora. No way was anyone in that show a teen.

Their age is never truly stated for Adora and Adam. Glimmer was stated to be around 16, and Sea Hawk is confirmed in his early 20's. The idea that they are supposed to be like 15 or younger is a new show fandom thing to put down the original IMO.

It was always believed to show the transformation as aging Adora and Adam up to better hide their real identity. It's crazy how saying someone is a teenage now requires them to be 13 or 14.

He-Man.org is a great fansite that has been around for a long time if people want to look at the show closer. It's really great for new fans that have never seen the original.

The concept of the new show is actually taken from the canon of the 1982 mini-comic that came with the toys.

It never was but this sudden mentality that they had to have been all young teenagers is such a new thing. I'm not sure why everyone is so collectively losing their mind over the age of characters in the original show.
